As one of the largest, long-standing charities in Waterloo Region, the YW takes a leadership role in supporting the work of small and start-up not-for-profits whose work aligns with ours.
The YW was a proud partner in The Feminist Shift coalition; a systems change project designed to increase awareness around the issues affecting women and gender-diverse people in Waterloo Region.
In partnership with YWCA Cambridge, the YW Kitchener-Waterloo leads a collaboration with 10 other local YWCA Member Agencies to contribute to building a design strategy and campaign in effort to promote social and systematic change towards ending gender-based violence and increasing gender equity across Ontario.
Finding justice for women and gender-diverse community members without housing, and for precariously housed racialized survivors of gender-based violence.
Community based training in harm reductive practices that can help support survivors of gender-based violence before they’re ready to flee.

The YW is an organizer of the Waterloo Region Women’s Campaign School, and provides its administrative support. The Women’s Municipal Campaign School is a two-day program that provides women who are considering running for municipal office with information and other resources to assist them in running successful election campaigns.
