We would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to the remarkable team at Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) for becoming the recipient of the Volunteer Impact award at this year’s virtual Volunteer Impact Awards ceremony.
Hockey Helps the Homeless has been one of our strongest allies and steadfast supporter in our shared mission to support people experiencing homelessness. It was for this reason, that we nominated this well-deserving organization for the honour.
Through their work and fundraising efforts, HHTH has raised over $1 Million dollars in six years. A portion of which has gone to our shelters.
“Because of the efforts of everyone involved, we were able to give $235,000 to […] five local agencies […] With this amazing result the tournament has successfully donated $1,031,000 in just six years,” writes HHTH’s co-chair, Rob Way, in his award acceptance speech. “This amount translates to over 14,000 safe shelter bed nights for children, women, and men in this community.”
