AFternoon Tea Speaker Series

We are excited to host an Afternoon Tea Speaker Series for Club 84 members and friends. The series will cover informative topics from community leaders and advocates around current issues facing women and children.

We invite you to attend our 2nd Afternoon Tea and Talk at the Walper Hotel in Downtown Kitchener. Please join us to learn about YW Block Line Supportive and Affordable Housing and hear resident Erin Kloos’ inspiring story. You do not have to be a club member to attend!

It’s been almost one year since construction of the YW building on Block Line Road in Kitchener was complete. But this is more than just a building. It’s home to 41 women, some of whom have waited years for housing and have now settled in with the support they need to thrive.

Block Line resident Erin grew up playing cello and guitar, and was heavily immersed in queer community and housing advocacy for all walks of life. She had a very successful career as a brewer for Ontario Craft Brewers spanning over a decade. Near the end of her career, Erin was experiencing precarious housing and addiction issues, resulting in losing her home and support network. Erin will share her story and thoughts on how YW Block Line is changing her life and the lives of so many women.
