We’re approaching the apex of summertime, and absolutely no one is thinking about snow, ice or hockey – no matter how proudly Canadian we are! But for one organization, hockey is always on the brain – and with good reason.
Hockey Helps the Homeless K-W hosts it’s 6th Annual Tournament on October 25, 2019 at RIM park, Waterloo.
At Hockey Helps the Homeless we believe that every Canadian should have a place to call home, and the supports they need to thrive. To ensure all homeless Canadians have a fighting chance, we host Pro-Am and Collegiate Hockey Tournaments across Canada. We invite you to join the over 15,000 Donors, 2,500 Players, and 1,000 Volunteers who participate annually as together we 'Play with Purpose'.
100% of the net proceeds are donated directly back to four partner charities: YW Kitchener Waterloo, House of Friendship, Lutherwood & One Roof.
250,000 Canadians access homeless emergency shelter services or sleep outside in any given year. Together we can change this statistic.
With your help, the YW Emergency Shelter will continue to operate our 66-bed shelter for homeless women and families. We provide basic necessities, crisis support, and housing help to approximately 350 adults and 150 children and youth each year.
