Spark Joy

Clean out your closets ladies! Dust off those heels, and grab those scarves or pieces of jewelry you have been holding on to but never wear!

AND? Move over Marie Kondo!

If you follow her, you know she’s been all the rage lately – both on book shelves and on Netflix. Haven’t seen her series? Marie Kondo is THE de-cluttering Queen! She teaches and preaches that we should only keep the things that spark joy in our lives. She’s no stranger to clutter, but has a fantastic way of organizing everything from purses to shoes.

Starting fresh and getting rid of gently used items you no longer wish to use is cathartic. Doesn’t it feel better when everything has it’s place, and you’ve shipped off a box of donations to a worthy organization?

“The question of what you want to own is actually the question of how you want to live your life.” – Marie Kondo

Starting on September 12th The YW will be accepting donations of gently used women’s accessories, handbags, jewelry, scarves, & shoes to support: YW In Her Shoes. This fantastic branch of our organization is an employment and entrepreneurship training program for cis, trans and non-binary women and girls who experience barriers to employment. Our goal is to help women reach financial stability through job experience and developing their own business!
