THE WAY WOMEN REMEMBER
BREAKFAST

our theme: the way women remember

Join us in remembering the 14 young women murdered on December 6, 1989 at École Polytechnique in Montreal. We remember the tragic mass shooting of women who were specifically targeted for their gender. We honour them as well as the many women who continue to face gender-based violence. We are shining a light on the lives lost and supporting survivors while we advocate for a safer future for all women, girls and gender-diverse individuals.

We are using art to remember, to educate, to act and work towards creating change.

Keynote speaker: donnique williams

Donnique (she/her) is a poet, DJ, collage and spoken word artist. She creates work with a great focus on vulnerability.

Her work awakens the reader to examine their own self-image, dreams, legacies, and struggles of faith.

Folks from Willow River Centre in Kitchener will be drumming a welcoming song.
