Today is Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a day when communities around the world rally around organizations in a global drive to raise much-needed donations. Through this time of uncertainty, our community networks of supporters, volunteers, staff, and advocates have never been more important.

For us, this day also serves as an important reminder. We are reminded on most days, but on this day in particular, of the extraordinary support of our community. We are reminded of just how vital community members like you are to the work that we do.
With the help of your donations, we helped families experiencing chronic homelessness secure and move into permanent housing. We also provided emergency shelter to over 550 women and children experiencing homelessness and winter shelters to hundreds more during the cold winter months.
We’re so proud of this community. Your enduring support, your charitable giving, and your commitment to positive change has meant that people experiencing homelessness, families without a place to live and people facing barriers to employment all have a resource to meet their needs and improve their life circumstances. They are no longer forgotten. And neither are you. Thank you.
Day of Action
This year, as we quickly approach the holiday season amid a global pandemic, millions more families face difficult circumstances. We know that not a single person was spared the challenging impacts of COVID-19 and that we all have had to make adjustments in many ways. So today, on Giving Tuesday when we’re all finding ways to give back, we hope that if you’re able it’s to the YW Kitchener-Waterloo.
